What an age estimate reads
Five things a camera uses to judge how old a face looks: skin (texture, fine lines, evenness and glow), the eyes (under-eye area, crow's feet and lids), contour (facial fullness and jaw and neck definition), hair (density, hairline and any greying), and the overall impression. It estimates how old you look in one photo - which is not the same as how old you are, and never a medical or biological reading.
Can you actually look younger?
Some of it, honestly. Skin is the biggest lever and it responds to real, unglamorous basics - daily sun protection above all, plus sleep, hydration and a consistent routine - and a fresher haircut, grooming and rest move the read too. Genuine ageing and bone structure don't reverse, and the report says so plainly. It never sells anti-ageing miracles or procedures - just the honest levers that work over weeks and months.
The 5 signals, explained
Skin
Texture, fine lines, evenness and glow - the single biggest driver of how old a face reads, and the most improvable.
Eyes
The under-eye area, crow's feet and eyelids - where tiredness and age show first.
Contour
Facial fullness and jaw/neck definition - how the structure of the face reads with age.
Hair
Density, hairline and any greying, as visible in the photo - a strong cue for perceived age.
Overall
The whole-face impression - how young or old the face reads once every cue is weighed together.
What each tier means
Remarkably youthful
Reads much younger than most. Roughly 1 in 20.
Youthful
Clearly reads younger than peers - skin and vitality are working for you.
Fresh
Reads a touch younger and well-kept - a good baseline.
Age-appropriate
Looks about its age - where most faces land, and nothing to fix.
Mature
Reads a little older than peers, with a few visible age signals to work on.
Distinguished
The face reads notably older than average - often sun, sleep and skin, much of which is genuinely improvable.
FAQ
Is the age estimate actually free?
Yes. Your estimated age, Youthfulness Score, tier, percentile, confidence and the full five-signal breakdown are free, with no account or payment. The written read on each signal plus a look-younger plan are a one-time launch-offer unlock - the price is shown at checkout. No subscription.
How accurate is the perceived age?
It's an estimate of how old you look in one photo - which is not the same as how old you are. Lighting, angle, expression, grooming and filters all shift it, and the confidence score tells you how reliable the read was. Treat it as a fun, honest read of how your face presents, not a fact about your real age.
What makes a face look older or younger?

What photo works best?
A straight-on, front-facing photo in even, natural light, no heavy filter or beauty smoothing (which skews the read younger), and your face clearly visible. Harsh light, a strong angle or a filter all reduce accuracy - the confidence score reflects that.
Is my photo kept private?
Scoring never stores your photo - it's used in memory to generate your result and discarded, and it's never sold or shared. The one exception is entirely yours: clicking "Save to my progress" stores that photo privately to your account for progress tracking, and you can delete it anytime.
