What a skin analysis reads
Five things a camera can actually see: clarity (visible blemishes and congestion), texture (smoothness and pores), tone (evenness - redness, dark spots), hydration (whether skin reads dry, oily or balanced) and glow (the summary luminosity of rested, cared-for skin). What a camera cannot see - causes, conditions, anything under the surface - this tool refuses to guess at.
Honest about timelines
Skin is the slowest-moving thing this site scores. A consistent routine shows in 6-12 weeks, not days - so the report's timeframes say so, and the workflow that actually works is a baseline now, the boring habits daily, and a rescore under the same light in two months. The number will tell you whether the routine is working long before the mirror convinces you.
The 5 markers, explained
Clarity
Visible blemishes, breakouts and congestion - what's present in the photo, described plainly.
Texture
Smoothness, visible pores, roughness or flaking under the photo's light.
Tone
Evenness of colour - visible redness, dark spots, patchiness. Evenness, never shade.
Hydration
Whether skin reads dry and tight, oily and shiny, or comfortably balanced.
Glow
Overall luminosity - the summary read that rested, cared-for skin gives a camera.
What each tier means
Excellent
Clear, even, hydrated-looking across the board. Roughly 1 in 20 photos.
Good condition
Consistent habits showing. Most markers independently strong.
Ordinary
Normal skin with normal issues - where the median selfie lands.
Needs consistency
The habits exist some days. Skin shows exactly which days.
Struggling
A consistent routine would visibly help within weeks.
Rough patch
Be kind to it - and consider professional advice.
FAQ
Is the skin analysis actually free?
Yes. Your Skin Score, apparent skin type, tier, percentile, confidence, and the full five-marker breakdown are free with no account or payment. The written assessment behind each marker plus a routine plan are a one-time launch-offer unlock - the current price is shown at checkout. No subscription.
Is this a medical diagnosis?
No. It describes the visible condition of skin in one photograph - it cannot diagnose acne, rosacea, eczema, or any condition, and it never recommends medication. If what's visible looks widespread, painful, or beyond ordinary cosmetic variation, the honest advice is a dermatologist, and the tool will say so plainly.
How does it decide my skin type?
From appearance only: shine patterns, visible dryness, and how different zones of the face read. It's labelled as 'oily-looking' or 'dry-looking' rather than a definitive type, because one photo under one light is a snapshot - and if makeup obscures the skin, it says so and lowers confidence instead of guessing.
What photo gives the best result?
Clean, makeup-light skin in even, natural light, camera at arm's length, no filters. Bathroom downlights manufacture texture that isn't there; heavy filters delete texture that is. The confidence score tells you how readable your photo actually was.
How fast can my skin score improve?
Honestly: 6-12 weeks for a consistent routine to show, which is why the report's timeframes say so. Anyone promising visible change in days is selling something. The useful move is a baseline now and a rescore in two months under the same light - the number will tell you whether the routine is working.
Do I need to sign up?
No signup is needed for the free analysis or the paid report.
Is my photo kept private?
Scoring never stores your photo - it's used in memory to generate your result and discarded, and it's never sold or shared. The one exception is entirely yours: clicking "Save to my progress" on a result stores that photo privately to your account for progress tracking, and you can delete it on the progress page anytime. You can also request deletion of your report record at any time.
