Prey eyes is the looksmaxxing label for an open, rounded eye area - the described opposite of hunter eyes. Here's what the five markers actually are, which of them can change, and why the label is harsher than the anatomy.

The five markers, inverted

Prey eyes isn't a medical term - it's the community's label for the low end of the same five markers that define hunter eyes. Being specific about which markers you actually have matters more than the label:

High upper eyelid exposure

A visible strip of eyelid between lash line and brow. The single biggest contributor to an 'open' rather than 'hooded' read, and heavily influenced by periorbital fat and puffiness.

Neutral or negative canthal tilt

Outer eye corner level with or below the inner corner. Extremely common, and the most misjudged marker - camera height alone can invent or erase it.

Shallow orbital depth

Eyes that sit forward rather than recessed under the brow ridge. Purely skeletal; lighting from above is what makes deep-set eyes look deeper, and flat frontal light does the opposite.

Rounder eye shape

Why the framing is worse than the anatomy
